The College of Engineering Graduate Student Committee is pleased to sponsor the

2009 Professional Development Seminar

The Professional Development Seminar invites speakers ranging in experience from College of Engineering faculty, professionals working in industry and researchers working at national labs. These speakers of such various backgrounds present career experiences and tips to prepare graduate students for their own professional careers. The real-world experience of our speakers gives the audience an intimate understanding of the issues and challenges facing professionals every day. This seminar aims to enhance a graduate student's education by providing experiences that are not typically covered in an engineering curriculum. Past topics have included the following: business and dining etiquette, leadership, conflict resolution, working as a manager, starting an academic career, building a research career, entrepreneurship, and making a larger impact on the community.
